4th Annual
GOLDEN WHISK
Competition
The students of HOSP 232 Plated Desserts and Salon will again square off in a plated dessert competition to see who will win the coveted Golden Whisk of 2026!
This year, students will each create a cold buffet of 8 portions of two pastries; one chocolate and one fruit based. The buffet desserts will be small, 150g servings, and meticulously decorated as in a patisserie. The students will choose one of these pastries to create three identical plated desserts from the elements of that pastry.
Audience members will be able to walk around and sample versions of the desserts/pastries, as well as talk to the participants. Judges will also walk around, sample, and speak with the students.
Different from last year, this year's event is more like an interactive art exhibit, where the audience moves through the booths/tables - there is no seating.
$10 cash donation at the door. Donations go directly to our Culinary Student Travel fund.
The baking lab will be open starting at 4:45pm, so patrons can view the students in action.
Honeycomb doors open at 5pm, light refreshments
Pastry students will set up their tables by 5:30pm
Judges will announce their decision at 6:30pm
Audience members can vote for their choice award, which will be announced along with the Golden Whisk.
The judging criteria will be posted at the event, so audience members can follow along as they choose their favorite.
We hope to see you there!
